Here are 2005 Archived newsletters I sent to my subscribers: (JOIN NOW)Personally Speaking (12/20/05)Well as I haven’t met a lot of you & with this years issues with the Holiday Season, not sure what to say but we celebrate Christmas in my house. We have a tree up & a few Christmas decorations. Sometimes it just doesn’t feel like Christmas here in Cape Coral because its so warm but we have community activities that help. We went to a block party the weekend before last, they had made some snow for the kids which was nice. Sunday night we had our annual boat parade which consists of hundreds of decorated boats up & down the canals in South Cape Coral. http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051219/NEWS0101/512190360/1075 I’ve taken my son to see Santa at the mall a few times & there’s a cute little train there that he’s ridden on. The other night we went to eat at Sal’s Pizza on Cape Coral Pkwy (very kid friendly restaurant). They had a clown & Santa so he got his picture taken with Santa again. Then Santa came to his school & he got yet another picture taken with him. At his school he also had a program last week where they sang several Holiday songs. It was a great show. I consider our ‘main season’ here to be from Christmas to Easter though. This time last year things were also slow. I’m expecting the market to heat back up some come January. As far as 2006 having another 30-50% increase I don’t see it happening. I see a possible 10-20% though. People still want to relocate, retire & invest here so I can’t see things going down at all. Here’s a recent article:http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051218/COLUMNISTS17/512180338/1077/RE It mentions some price reductions, etc. which in my opinion were due to people listing high expecting the market to continue to go up like they had in the past & then realizing Lehigh Acres vacant lots, for example are not going up $1,000 a week like they were early this year. If you wait to see if the market may go down before you buy a couple of things may happen. 1) It may not go down at all 2) It may go down a little but then there will be more competition as well 3) If you are obtaining financing the increased interest rates may very well make up for any gains you may have made price-wise. The days of just buying anything today & turning a profit over in a few months are a thing of the past (exceptions do apply). I think now is a good time to buy or sell as long as you do it correctly. Holiday Schedule Also, just to give you an update of my working schedule the next couple of weeks. Most experts are saying none. Prices rose about 46% from September 2004 to this September according to a new article published in our daily newspress. That’s really good considering we were hit by Charley last August. We only lost power for about a day and a few shingles from our roof. Nearby neighbors had damage to pool cages, roofs, trees, fences, etc. Several signs were down in the area. Overall not much major structural damage to speak of. (Thank you to everyone who called & emailed to check on us - I really appreciate it) There are still about 100,000 customers in Lee County without power according to our local news. Lee County schools just announced that school will be closed until Monday, October 31, 2005. If you are up north you get to shovel snow & drive on dangerous icy roads. If you live in the Midwest you get tornadoes & without warning sometimes. Out West you get earthquakes and mudslides, intense heat in the desert & wildfires. Take your pick or split your time between more than one area to avoid it altogether. More & more people are buying second homes & more these days. Real estate is a great investment in your future. I’m back to work & look forward to assisting you with your buying & selling needs. September 2005 NewsI decided to send a newsletter out today with a few extras that I don't normally include. At the top of my list are a couple of websites with listings of how you can help the Hurricane Katrina victims. Tragic events like these can never be prepared for. Millions are left without a place to go, without clean water, food, money and several are even missing loved ones. I was pondering where the best place to give assistance to is but then I decided that WHERE isn't the important question. The important question is when & hopefully NOW is your answer.
